The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Women’s Association (LLLWA) provides an excellent forum for the Laboratory women’s community at large. The Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) group is open to all lab employees who are interested in developing women in STEM fields, gender issues, and diversity & inclusion at the lab. We work to encourage networking between employees across disciplines and Directorates and to foster an environment that is conducive to the success of the laboratory and all of its employees.

The WISE group provides a venue for networking, discussion, and action to support women pursuing careers in science and engineering disciplines at the Laboratory. Because the number of women pursuing careers in each of the scientific disciplines at the Laboratory is often quite small, it is valuable to provide an organization in which women of all scientific disciplines can collectively discuss issues facing the workforce and advocate for action to improve the work environment within their chosen career.
